The Journey
Behind WinFit
From personal transformation to helping others achieve their fitness goals
Personal Transformation
At a young age I had what you would politely call a 'slightly larger' build. At school I was given the nickname Teddy (I'll let you guess why). At college, whilst studying for a Diploma in Sport I started to understand that I needed to improve my nutrition for the best results in my fitness. Since then regular exercise and sporting activities, combined with a balanced healthy diet has had a huge impact on my self-confidence and my body.
Rugby Career & Injury Recovery
Over the 10 years of playing rugby I have picked up more than my fair share of sport injuries including; ankle and knee ligament tears and a serious tear in one of my rotator cuffs. None of these come close to the injuries I sustained in October 2015 when I was involved in a road accident. The following 18 months or so consisted of 3 major knee surgeries and meniscus repairs with my return to competitive rugby coming in Sept 2017.
Professional Philosophy
During the early stages of my PT career, I realised that the training blueprint used by the larger corporate gyms could not be adapted as a one-size fits all solution. Every client came with their own story, whether it was body image, identity issues, nutritional imbalance, mental health or stress management. I realised that for me to offer the best service to my clients I needed to emphasis the 'Personal' in Personal Trainer.
Why WinFit?
My own story, combined with the stories of the clients I have been working with since 2018 formed the basis of me starting WinFit. Every client is unique, every journey is different, and every success story matters. WinFit isn't just about fitness - it's about winning at life through sustainable, personalised training that works.
